Professor Ross Harper CBE MA LLB D Univ
Chairman of the Board

Professor Harper, appointed to the Board on 29 December 2005, holds the degrees of Bachelor of Laws and Master of Arts from Glasgow University. He was awarded an Honorary Doctorate for Services to Law at Glasgow University in 2002. Professor Harper is an Emeritus Professor of Law at Strathclyde University. He was awarded a CBE for public and political services in 1986.

Professor Harper is a consultant with Harper Macleod, solicitors. He was a senior partner of the firm and helped develop the business from its inception. Harper Macleod now has over 150 staff and 30 partners.

He has a distinguished political career and has been active in many charitable activities such as the Ross Harper Foundation. Professor Harper has several publications in the legal and political fields.

Professor Harper is currently Non-Executive Chairman of Mining (Scotland) Limited,  a private company which operates 14 open cast sites through its wholly owned subsidiary Scottish Coal Ltd, Scottish Biopower Ltd and European Scanning Centre.

Mr Stephen C. Prior BCom (Melb.), C.A., F.T.I.A.

Mr Stephen Prior, aged 51 years, is the senior partner in the accounting firm Prior & Co. Pty Ltd which has been providing accounting and business advice and company secretarial services to Admiralty since September 2004. He held the position of Company Secretary of Admiralty during most of this time. During his time as Company Secretary, Stephen gained a thorough understanding of Admiralty, its activities, investments and all aspects of its affairs and he  materially assisted Admiralty in resolving many of the problems the company has faced.

Stephen has over 30 years experience in the accountancy profession and holds and has held board positions in listed and unlisted public companies and private companies involved in a wide range of industries. His career has to date involved him in many and varied assignments including the sale of substantial businesses, structured finance arrangements, property acquisition and development, corporate activities including defending takeover bids and facilitating reverse takeovers. He has had experience in facilitating international property and commercial transactions and financing, particularly in Asia.

Stephen holds the degree of Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne, is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and is a Fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia.

John Anderson BCom MBA
Non-Executive Director

Mr Anderson was appointed to the Board on 14 December 2005 and has over 25 years experience in the finance sector in banking, investment banking and consulting areas.  Mr Anderson has held positions of Managing Director or Chairman with a number of public and private companies during his Australian career. He is presently a Director and Chairman of Anchor Resources Pty Ltd, an ASX listed company.

John has specialised in general financing and capital raisings, balance sheet and profit and loss management, resource and technology analysis, strategic advice, investment and development and business plans for new and existing entities.

Among previous positions held, John was the managing director of an Australian publicly listed mining company and was responsible for the turning around of its unprofitable operations and the implementation of mining and operating plans.

Michael Stephen Perry BCom (Melb), C.A.
Non-Executive Director

Michael has retired from an extensive and diverse finance and audit career, with his last position being Senior Partner with Ernst & Young in Melbourne. Michael has experience in financial consulting services with specialist skills in capital and debt raisings, corporate financing, internal audit structuring and risk management and business acquisition planning and implementation.

During his career, Michael worked extensively in the mining industry and was involved with the BHP audit for many years.   He was responsible for the BHP Coal and BHP Shipping engagement and for the audits of manganese miner and processer, Groote Eylandt Mining Co. (GEMCO) and Tasmanian Electro Metallurgical Co. (TEMCO) prior to their sale to Billiton. Michael was also responsible for the work performed on the Indophil initial public offerings and earlier year audits.

Michael holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Melbourne, is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and a member of CPA Australia. He is also a Senior Associate of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia, a member of the Finance and Treasurers’ Association and the Institute of Company Directors in Australia.

Patrick Rossi BCom (Melb), C.A.
Company Secretary

Patrick is an accountant at Prior & Co. Pty Ltd and has been directly involved in the provision of accounting services to Admiralty since June 2007. He holds the degree of Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.
